"My Comic" was the comic I did for tastes like chicken magazine for five-ish years. I know: genius title, right? When I started it, I had zero experience making comics. And when I agreed
to do one, I had no real idea what it would be. It was definitely a reflection of my reaction to
the times, and definitely the definition of "random."

Based on one of my favorite songs.

Over the course of a mere few months, I lost two family friends very near and dear to my heart. This is me paying

This is, indeed, based on a dream I had about my late friend Butch Zatezalo.
For years, I stood behind him, playing upright bass.
So this all I saw, every rehearsal, every performance.
Anyone who ever had the pleasure of rehearsing with him
can attest to the tilted ballcap and ever-present flannel shirt.

Their first album was one of my favorite albums at the time. Part of me made this hoping they'd hire me.
(Note: The little guy in the raft? That's the short-lived character I created to represent "dwellephant.")
